Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults – Childcare Act 2006

Safeguarding Children:

The New Green Community Trust has a duty of care to ensure that unsuitable people are prevented from working with children and vulnerable adults. As part of our commitment, certain requirements are in turn passed on to clubs/groups hiring our facilities.

If persons under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults DO attend your club/group at The New Green Centre then please, where applicable, provide the information required below:

  • How many persons under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults attend your booking per week? ______
  • Clubmark/NGB Accreditation:

For our records, clubs with Clubmark/NGB accreditation must supply;

  • A copy of their certificate.
  • The name of the club’s designated Safeguarding Officer.
  • A copy of the club’s Safeguarding Policy.
  • The name, position and copies of relevant qualifications of all staff/volunteers that will be representing your club/group during the booking. (please attach)

 

For our records, Clubs/groups/organisations without Clubmark/NGB accreditation must supply;

  • The name of the club’s designated Safeguarding Officer. 
  • A copy of the club/groups/organisations Safeguarding Policy which has been formally adopted and signed by the Chairman or Treasurer. 
  • The name, position and copies of relevant qualifications of all staff/volunteers that will be representing your club/group/organisation during the booking. (please attach)

A letter confirming that your club/group/organisation adopts safe recruitment procedures. This includes; at least two references taken and checked, identity and qualifications verified and necessary DBS/ checks undertaken on coaches/officials or any other staff/volunteers, who might have unsupervised, isolated or regular one to one contact with people under the age of 18, or with vulnerable adults. This should be signed by an official such as the Chairman or Treasurer.
